Programs and Services

The advantages of membership in EDAM reflect the aims and objectives of the Association. Every category of EDAM membership offers a basic package of benefits and services, ranging from receipt of the Association's publications to networking opportunities.

Professional Development

EDAM holds Forums twice a year on topics of professional interest, to foster "idea exchanges" and provide networking opportunities to economic development practitioners. Forums are held in a variety of locations throughout Manitoba. EDAM will also endeavor to inform its membership about, and support, other conferences and seminars related to community and economic development.

Decision Making

Annual General Meetings will be convened to deal with Association business and elections and will often be held in conjunction with an EDAM Forum. For vote entitlements related to classes of membership, please refer to page 4.

Mailing Services

In addition to furnishing its mailing lists to members upon request, EDAM will undertake periodic mailings of its members covering a variety of announcements of interest to economic developers including conferences, publications, employment notices and advertisements.

Publications

EDAMnet is the Association's regular newsletter, published semi-annually. The newsletter contains updates on the activities of EDAM, and economic development agencies and organizations in Manitoba, as well as articles and news items of professional interest. EDAM publishes a yearly, comprehensive membership directory, and EDAM will endeavor to compile and include other directories and contact information of interest and use to economic development practitioners in the Province. EDAM will, wherever possible, make available newsletters, directories and publications of other provincial and national associations affiliated with the Economic Developers Association of Manitoba.
